Do you accept 16-year-olds at Savage Performing Arts Academy?

Yes, we do accept 16-year-olds at Savage. However, this is a private course so students are expected to pay and there are no grants/funding available unlike a BTEC. However, you’ll receive more practical hours than a BTEC.

Do students sit written exams at Savage Performing Arts Academy?

No. When you join our dance and musical theatre course you won’t sit any written exams. You don’t need an exam/piece of paper to be successful in performing arts industry. No one is going to ask for your qualifications in audition, they want to see how well you present yourself and if you fit the part they’re looking to fill.

However, if you are taking one of our teacher training courses, you will be asked to sit one written exam which is done online.

Can I get any funding or grants to support my place at Savage Performing Arts Academy?

Unfortunately, not. Because dance and musical theatre course doesn’t come with a recognised qualification there’s no funding. However, we offer more practical training hours and teach you ‘life-as-a-performer’ skills so this course is really like no other in this industry!

You can apply for funding towards our teaching qualifications as this is a recognised qualification. We can show you the ropes when it comes to applying.

How old do I have to be to take a teacher training exam?

You can start your teacher training from 16 years old. However, you must be 18 before you can take your official qualification exam.

Are there additional fees above the yearly tuition fee for the dance and musical theatre course?

Yes. There’s a £250 admin (explain what for) and exclusive branded uniform fee (what’s the uniform fee?) to be paid when your application’s successful.

What isn’t included in the yearly tuition fee for the dance and musical theatre course?
